Inspired by the popular stories of Taiwanese illustrator and children's author Jimmy Liau, the playground design is delightfully whimsical and vibrantly colourful. The playground at Tamsui Fisherman's Wharf is composed of two huge towers - one of presents stacked on top of each other and one with hats piled high. Both are hollow constructions that can be explored inside and out. Climb all the way to the top of the giant tower of hats and discover the view from the sky and the hidden details within.

FROM THE DRAWING BOARD

At MONSTRUM, all our playgrounds begin with a brainstorming and sketching phase. One of our architects and project managers works with the client to establish their needs and wants for the playground project before developing the design for the playground.

In this case, the design was to be inspired by Jimmy Liao's whimsical universe and specifically the story Sometimes Sometimes.
